Pedestrian Injured in Early Morning Collision at Downing & Virginia Intersection

DENVER, CO 12/22/2025. A traffic incident reportedly occurred at 7:52 AM on December 22, 2025, at the intersection of South Downing Street and East Virginia Avenue in Denver’s Washington Park West neighborhood. A pedestrian was involved in a collision with a southbound passenger car making a left turn at this location. The driver of the vehicle failed to yield the right of way, potentially due to sun glare, although no serious injuries or fatalities were reported. This intersection is just a short distance south of the major cross streets of Alameda Avenue and Franklin Street. The incident marks the 256th such occurrence in the neighborhood since December 23, 2024.
