Possible DUI Investigated in Two-Car Collision at Lafayette and 1st Ave

DENVER, CO 12/18/2024. On December 18, 2024, at 4:23 PM, a traffic incident was reported at the intersection of North Lafayette Street and East 1st Avenue in Denver’s Country Club neighborhood, approximately one block east of the intersection with Downing Street. The collision involved two passenger vehicles traveling eastbound, with one car proceeding straight and the other making a left turn. The accident, occurring in dark but lit conditions, resulted in a ‘Front to Side’ impact. While no serious injuries or fatalities were reported, the investigation is considering the possibility of Driving under the Influence, with one driver noted for careless driving due to distracted eating or drinking. This marks the 62nd reported incident in the area over the past year.
