One Seriously Injured in Traffic Collision Near S Platte River Dr and W Mississippi Ave

DENVER, CO 7/22/2025. A serious traffic incident occurred on July 22, 2025, at approximately 4:08 PM, near the intersection of S Platte River Dr and W Mississippi Ave in the Ruby Hill neighborhood of Denver. The collision, involving two passenger vehicles traveling south and east respectively, happened 0.6 miles northwest of the major cross streets, with a ‘front to side’ impact followed by one vehicle striking a tree. The driver of the southbound vehicle reportedly failed to stop at the traffic signal, causing the collision under dark but lit conditions. One individual sustained serious injuries in the accident, though no fatalities were reported. This incident adds to the 179 others reported in the Ruby Hill area since the same date last year.
