DENVER, CO 1/1/2026. A traffic incident involving a pedestrian was reported at 5:51 AM Mountain Time on January 1, 2026, in the 8400 block of Peña Boulevard, approximately 0.5 miles north of the nearest major cross streets. The event occurred on the roadway, specifically at a non-intersection location, and involved a pedestrian and a parked motor vehicle. The vehicle involved, a passenger car traveling north, was reported to be going straight at the time of the incident, with the driver cited for careless driving and distraction by external factors. Thankfully, no serious injuries or fatalities were reported in this incident. This marks the 445th traffic-related incident in the DIA neighborhood since the start of 2025.
