Possible DUI Incident Under Investigation in Denver’s Cory-Merrill Neighborhood

DENVER, CO 8/18/2025. A possible DUI-related traffic incident was reported at 6:37 AM on August 18, 2025, in Denver’s Cory-Merrill neighborhood. The incident occurred on S Josephine St near E Iowa Ave, approximately half a mile southwest of the intersection with E University Blvd. Police reports indicate that the crash involved a ‘Front to Rear’ collision between two SUVs on the roadway, away from any intersections. The driver of the northbound vehicle was suspected of careless driving, potentially due to fatigue or being asleep, and authorities are investigating possible involvement of driving under the influence. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were reported. This incident contributes to the 94 similar events in the Cory-Merrill area over the past year.
