Possible DUI Leads to Wrong-Way Collision in Denver’s Hampden South

DENVER, CO 12/13/2024. A traffic incident reported on December 13, 2024, at 1:42 PM in Denver’s Hampden South neighborhood may involve a case of driving under the influence. The collision occurred on S Tamarac Dr., located approximately 0.5 miles west of the major intersection of S Tamarac Dr. and E Hampden Ave. In the incident, two passenger vehicles collided head-on in a dark but lighted area on a non-intersection roadway. One vehicle was traveling the wrong way, with actions described as careless driving, though fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities occurred. Authorities are investigating the potential involvement of alcohol or drugs. This marks one of the 419 reported incidents in the neighborhood since December 13, 2023.
