Possible DUI Suspected in Rear-End Collision on I-25 near S University Blvd

DENVER, CO 7/5/2025. A traffic incident was reported on July 5, 2025, at 8:48 PM involving a front-to-rear collision between a passenger car and a pickup truck on I-25 southbound, approximately 0.5 miles north of S University Blvd in Denver’s University neighborhood. Despite the dark-lit conditions, there were no serious injuries or fatalities reported. Preliminary assessments suggest that the driver of the passenger car may have been following too closely as it traveled south and collided with the slowing pickup truck ahead. Authorities have indicated the possibility of Driving under the Influence as a factor in this non-intersection accident, adding to the 159 incidents reported in the area since July 2024.
