DENVER, CO 11/11/2024. A traffic incident resulting in one serious injury was reported on November 11, 2024, at 4:01 PM in the University Park neighborhood of Denver. The collision occurred at the intersection of South Monroe Street and East Buchtel Boulevard, approximately 0.1 miles east of this major cross street. The accident involved a passenger car executing a left turn westbound that failed to yield the right of way and collided frontally with an eastbound passenger van proceeding straight through the intersection. The roadway was described as dry with visible icy road treatment, and no fatalities were reported. This incident contributes to the 113 traffic-related events reported in the neighborhood since November 12, 2023.
