Traffic Collision on W Mississippi Ave Results in Serious Injury

DENVER, CO 3/8/2025. A serious traffic incident was reported on March 8, 2025, at 10:30 PM near the intersection of W Mississippi Ave and S Platte River Dr, approximately 0.1 miles east from the major cross streets. The collision involved a pickup truck/utility van and an SUV, both traveling south on W Mississippi Ave in the Ruby Hill neighborhood. The incident, which occurred at a dark but lighted intersection, was characterized by multiple harmful events: front to rear and front to front collisions. One individual sustained serious injuries in the crash, but no fatalities were reported. The driver of the pickup truck/utility van was noted for careless driving, while the SUV driver exhibited no apparent contributing factors. This marks the 165th reported incident in the past year for the Ruby Hill area.
