Careless Driving Leads to Severe Injury in Villa Park Collision

DENVER, CO 10/21/2024. A traffic incident resulting in one serious injury was reported at 6:08 AM on October 21, 2024, in the 4000 block of West 7th Avenue, located roughly half a mile southeast of the intersection of Federal Boulevard and 8th Avenue in Denver’s Villa Park neighborhood. The collision involved two SUVs; one was making a left turn while driving westbound and the other was parked. The driver of the moving SUV was reportedly engaging in careless driving while distracted by smoking, leading to a front-to-rear collision on the wet roadway, which was identified as intersection-related. No fatalities were reported, adding to the neighborhood’s tally of 143 incidents over the past year.
