Early Morning Crash in Speer Neighborhood Possible DUI Incident

DENVER, CO 11/2/2024. On November 2, 2024, at 1:21 AM, a traffic incident was reported at the intersection of North Downing Street and East 1st Avenue in Denver’s Speer neighborhood, approximately 0.3 miles southwest of the major intersection. The collision involved a passenger car or van that ran off the right side of the road and struck a culvert or headwall. The crash occurred under dark-lighted conditions, and authorities are investigating the potential involvement of driving under the influence. Two individuals were seriously injured, but no fatalities were reported. This incident adds to the 347 reported in the Speer area over the past year.
