Possible DUI Suspected in Collision at Intersection Near 17th Ave and Downing St

DENVER, CO 12/6/2025. On December 6, 2025, at 3:30 PM, a traffic incident potentially involving Driving under the Influence was reported at 1800 N Downing St, approximately a block and a half south of the intersection of 17th Avenue and Downing Street in Denver’s City Park West neighborhood. The collision occurred at the intersection under dark-lighted conditions, involving a westbound SUV and a southbound passenger vehicle, both proceeding straight through the junction. The SUV driver reportedly failed to stop at a signal. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities have been reported. This adds to the 198 incidents already recorded in City Park West over the past year.
