Careless Driving Incident on I-25 HOV Lane Results in Serious Injury

A traffic incident was reported on October 9, 2024, at 3:34 AM, involving a medium/heavy truck and an SUV on the I-25 HOV lane near Park Avenue West in the Globeville neighborhood of Denver. The collision occurred approximately half a mile south of the intersection. The truck, traveling southbound, rear-ended the stopped SUV, subsequently crashing into a concrete highway barrier after running off the right side of the express lane. Authorities attribute the careless driving of the truck’s operator to age and driver ability factors, while the SUV driver took no contributing action. One person in the SUV sustained serious injuries, while no fatalities were reported.
