Careless Driving Leads to Serious Injury in Elyria Swansea Collision

DENVER, CO 12/7/2024. On December 7, 2024, at 7:08 PM, a traffic incident resulted in a serious injury at the intersection of N Clayton St and E 42nd Ave in the Elyria Swansea neighborhood of Denver. The crash, which was intersection-related, involved a vehicle traveling south and a heavy train moving east. The vehicle, described as ‘Other Vehicle Type,’ collided front-to-side with the train, which then resulted in a front-to-front impact. The driver of the vehicle was reportedly distracted and manipulating vehicle controls. While there were no fatalities, one person sustained serious injuries. The area was dark but lit at the time of the accident.
