Driver Disregards Stop Sign, Causing Serious Injury in Athmar Park Collision

DENVER, CO 9/2/2025. On September 2, 2025, at 8:16 AM Mountain Time, a traffic incident at the intersection of W Tennessee Ave and S Raritan St, in the Athmar Park neighborhood of Denver, left one person seriously injured. The collision occurred approximately 0.25 miles north of the junction of W Mississippi Ave and S Pecos St. The crash involved two passenger cars—one heading west and the other north. The westbound driver, unfamiliar with the area, reportedly disregarded a stop sign, resulting in a front-to-side collision with the northbound vehicle and a subsequent impact with a light pole. Though the incident resulted in serious injury, no fatalities were reported. This accident marks the 206th incident in Athmar Park since September 2, 2024.
