Pickup Truck Crashes into Utility Pole in Possible DUI Incident in Montbello

On October 27, 2024, at 9:05 PM MT, a serious traffic incident was reported at the intersection of E 40th Ave and N Chambers Rd in the Montbello neighborhood. A pickup truck traveling west drove off the right side of the road, hitting a curb, a sign, and ultimately crashing into a utility pole. The area was dark but lighted at the time of the accident, which resulted in one serious injury. The driver was reportedly engaged in careless and aggressive driving, raising the possibility of driving under the influence. This location is approximately 0.1 miles south of the nearest major cross streets. Fortunately, there were no fatalities reported, but it adds to the 489 incidents in Montbello reported since October 30, 2023.
