Possible DUI Behind Early Morning Collision on I-25 in Hampden South

DENVER, CO 12/2/2024. A traffic incident was reported on December 2, 2024, at 1:59 AM Mountain time, involving a collision between an SUV and a pickup truck on I-25 Northbound near East Hampden Avenue in the Hampden South neighborhood of Denver. The vehicles collided front to rear on the roadway, approximately 1 mile north of a major intersection. The incident occurred in a non-intersection area with the SUV reported to be following too closely before striking the pickup truck, which was stopped in traffic. There were no reported serious injuries or fatalities. The incident is still under investigation, with indications that driving under the influence may have been a factor.
