Possible DUI Investigated After Two-Car Crash on Lawrence Street

DENVER, CO 12/6/2024. On December 6, 2024, at 10:20 PM, a two-vehicle accident was reported at 2017 Lawrence St, approximately half a mile southwest of the intersection of Lawrence St and 22nd St in the Five Points neighborhood of Denver. The crash involved a passenger car traveling north, which was described as out of control, resulting in a front-to-side collision in a non-intersection area. The incident occurred under dark but lighted conditions and involved careless driving and a possible human contributing factor of distracted eating or drinking. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries or fatalities reported. Authorities are investigating the possible involvement of driving under the influence in this incident. This marks the 620th traffic incident in the Five Points neighborhood over the past year.
