Possible DUI Leads to Serious Injury in Montbello Traffic Incident

DENVER, CO 12/20/2025. A traffic incident with potential involvement of driving under the influence was reported in Denver’s Montbello neighborhood on December 20, 2025, at 7:48 PM. The accident occurred on the 13300 block of East 56th Avenue, approximately half a mile south of the intersection with Peña Boulevard, where a westbound passenger car struck a light pole, a tree, and another fixed object. The crash, which took place in dark-lighted conditions, resulted in one serious injury but no fatalities. Authorities are investigating the incident, which brings Montbello’s reported traffic incidents to 495 since December 21, 2024.
