May is National Motorcycle Safety Awareness month, and I am passionate about this cause. All too often I see motorcycle riders hurt by drivers that was a hundred percent avoidable.
Hi, my name is Scott O’Sullivan and I am a motorcycle accident attorney in Denver, Colorado and I want to talk to you about the most critical issue that we can do today to help motorcycle riders on the road as a driver of a car or truck, and that is to look twice before you make that left-hand turn or go out into traffic.
All too often I see – it’s where the driver of the vehicle that hits the motorcycle rider says, “I just didn’t see them!” It’s unacceptable, you just have to take your time, slow down, and look before you make that turn. Think about it this way too: no one wants to hurt a rider. It ruins your life as a driver of a car or truck and also ruins or kills the motorcycle rider. Life is just too short. Take that second look and also put the phone down, stop with the distracted driving, don’t text, don’t call people, just put it down. It’s as simple as that.
